CANR welcomes visitors, but when possible we ask that you call before so we can arrange our schedule to give you a worth wile tour of the facilities
From I-20 West (Atlanta, GA)
Exit I-20 at the first Thomson exit (Exit 172), turn right (south toward Thomson) on Highway 78. Go straight on Highway 78 3.4 miles and turn left staying on Highway 78. (this takes you thru downtown Thompson due to construction on the by-pass) Proceed on highway 78 for 4 miles and watch for a carved sign with McDuffie County Public Fishing Area. Bear off to the right onto Ellington Airline Road (Caution: Do Not take a hard right onto Wire Road). Go 2.9 miles thru the first stop sign until Ellington Airline Road dead ends into Luckey�s Bridge Road. Take a right onto Luckey's Bridge Road (Caution: Not Iron Hill Road which is a few feet before Luckey's Bridge Road). Go about 1.3 miles, look for sign to CANR or McCorkle�s main office, Turn right and enter the gate directly to the right of McCorkle�s main office, drive straight ahead between the greenhouses and down slight hill to green building on the right. You are there.
From I-20 East (Augusta, GA):
Take the Appling-Harlem Exit (Exit 183, Highway
221), turn left going back over I-20. Stay on this road until you come to the
traffic light in Harlem, this is the intersection of Highway 221 and Highway
78. Take a right onto Highway 78 to Dearing, turn left on Main Street (The
Dearing Town Hall is on the Corner). Go about 3.5 miles (Main Street turns
into Iron Hill Rd and then to Luckey s Bridge Rd after curving left), look for
sign to CANR or McCorkle s main office, Turn right and enter the gate directly
to the right of McCorkle s main office, drive straight ahead between the
greenhouses and down slight hill to green building on the right. You are
there.
From US 1 (Wrens, GA):
From Wrens, turn off Highway 1 onto Highway 221
(North) at the Western Motel, go about 7.4 miles and take a left onto Luckey's
Bridge Road (the first hardtop road past the 221 Corral, which is just across
the McDuffie County line). The sign is marked by a small McCorkle Nursery sign
and a large wooden carved sign for the McDuffie County Public Fishing Area.
Once on Luckey's Bridge Road, go about 3.5 miles to McCorkle's main office.
Turn left and enter the gate directly to the right of McCorkle s main office,
drive straight ahead between the greenhouses and down slight hill to green
building on the right. You are there.
